OPEN CALL: Solo Project

OPEN CALL

We are looking for new projects that have never been shown before.

OPEN CALL! The55Project aims to increase the visibility of Brazilian artists outside the national boundaries through constant dialogue and exchange with international organizations. We invite artists from various backgrounds within Brazil to APPLY and give us the honor of showcasing their ideas.

The Open Call aims to attract artists who desire to enrich the arts with their practices and diversify what's already a multicultural territory: Miami and beyond.

We are looking for new projects that have never been shown before. You will have a space to develop and finish the art project and research. By the end of your season, you will have the opportunity to have an open studio, so guests will have the pleasure of learning about your creative process in the United States.

The finalists will be invited to meet with the selection committee and The55Project team to discuss their project in more detail.

Open call opening: June, 13th of 2023

The finalist will be announced on August 13th of 2023

FUNDRAISING with Nadia Taquary (members only)

The55Project is proud to announce its second fundraising initiative. This initiative has goal to create movement within contemporary artistic production while support our next year programs.

To realize this crowdfunding, The55Project invited the artist Nadia Taquary, who have previously exhibited and collaborated with us. In 2019, the artist was selected to our Solo Project, and presented the project "Orikí: Bowing to the Head”. Nádia spent three weeks in a studio at the Bakehouse Art Complex working on the project curated by Jennifer Inacio.

Some pieces presented during the residency, are now part of PAMM (Perez Art Museum Miami) and MAD (Museum of Art and Design, New York).

This Limited Edition and original artwork was created specifically for our members and donors. The55Project recognizes the importance of finding innovative ways to approach the upcoming season. This fundraising initiative is one of the ways in which to support The55Project’s programming.
